This climb is deceptive with only an average gradient of 2.9% many would consider it easy on paper however that’s far from the truth. This climb starts easy on the flat lands out of Ripponden and gradually climbs to Rishworth before kicking up to the Turn Pike Inn. From this point there is a brief rest bite before the climb reaches the motorway. The final section of this climb can be tough as the gradient increases to Bleakgate Moor. Covering 5.9 miles this climb can be open to poor weather on the upper sections. Climb status hard (Red) and (Cat 3).
