Blazing Saddles

Here’s what Blazing Saddles is offering!

FRIDAY: Blazing Bike wash open all day plus mechanics available for emergencies/running repairs.

Blazing Saddles Bike Park

Blazing Saddles will be open as a Bike Park on Friday 25th March from about 3pm (flexible as the shop’s open anyway), for people attending the Film Night at the Picture House on Friday evening. All bikes need to be locked (bring your own lock) and owners can sign their name, type of bike and give their phone number. Matt will unlock the shop at 7pm after the film, and bikes can be collected then, The shop will be locked again at 7.30pm.

SATURDAY: Blazing Bike wash open all day plus mechanics available for emergencies/running repairs.

Blazing Saddles and Whoosh Mountain Biking invite you to join in the Calderdale Cycling Celebration on this guided MTB ride on Easter Monday.

Meeting at Blazing Saddles at 9:45 we’ll be riding a great local loop, making a stop for refreshments half way (don’t forget your pocket money!), and finishing with a couple of Hebden’s famous descents. Total distance will be around 10-12 miles.

We’ll be back around 1pm to allow plenty of time to refuel in any of the great cafes, pubs or restaurants in town ahead of the Duck Race at 3.

The pace will accommodate everyone who shows up and there’ll be a couple of chances to drop off early should you want to get back or you reach your limit…

Bring a working mountain bike, helmet and any spares you might need - anything else is up to you, but please dress for the weather on the day - Duck Race themed Fancy Dress is encouraged!!

Clif’Cross

Posted on Jan 25, 2016 at 10:15 AM by andy.geall79

Clif’cross is back for a 4th year!

But what is Clif’cross I hear you ask? Clif’cross is old school ‘cross in the heart of the South Pennines. Choose from either 27 miles or 43 miles of stunning roads, trails, cobbled sets and ancient pack horse tracks weaving their way around the Calder Valley.

The route shows off many of the areas treasures and it’s industrial past as it winds its way past the reservoirs and moorland with breathtaking views of Stoodley Pike and Widdop.

Entry Includes

Electronic timing

Clifbar goody bag

Fully signed routes

Feed stations with hot drinks (one on the 27 mile and 2 on the 43 mile)

Joolze Dymond Photograpy

The Porkery Hog Roast (please let us know if you’re vegi, vegan or coeliac)

Two timed climbs with PRIZES

Brevet Card and map

Car parking

We don’t mind what kind of bike you ride, CX, MTB or gravel but we would advise low gears as the climbing packs quite a punch!

The event starts at Mytholmroyd Community Centre at 9.30am on the 27th March 2016

Pre-entry is via British Cycling for £25 or £30 on the day.

Full details can be found at www.clifcross.co.uk
