Sowerby Bridge

Sowerby Bridge sits in the very centre of Calderdale on the banks of the River Calder and provides an excellent starting point to explore the picturesque Rishworth and Ryburn Valleys and the quiet countryside above Mill Bank that links with the Upper Calder Valley. The town is famous for the annual Rushbearing Festival that was first held in 1977 and is the only one of its kind in Yorkshire.

Sowerby Bridge plays a key role in the Calderdale Cycle Network with National Cycle Network Route 66 and 68 passing through the town and has a number of cycle friendly establishments.

The town has a regular train service from Manchester and Leeds and good links to the M62.
